Book Exchange 2010 @ the Plaza by vmsadmin5 on 8th-Feb-2010 15:03
We need volunteers to assist us during the Book Exchange event at the Plaza, National Library Building on 24 April 2010. FOLs may be asked to take upon any of the following roles - crowd control, replenishing books on trolley, collecting and issuing coupons and tidying/ picking up books. Please note that FOLs interested in helping out for this event are required to attend a compulsory briefing cum training session on 3 April at the Central Public Libary. Please remember to sign up for both the briefing as well as to help out at the Book Exchange event itself through the Events Calendar. Thank you!

From 10 - 23 April, we invite volunteers to assist us in the Book Exchange collection exercise. You will be required to assist in the screening of books and ensuring that they are in good and reasonable condition, as well as handing out coupons to the patrons who donate their books. No prior experience needed however training will be provided during a compulsory briefing session on Sat 3 April 2010, 10am at Central Public Library. For slots from Monday to Friday, please sign up under the Regular Volunteering Opportunities in the Events Calendar; for slots on Saturday and Sunday, please sign up under the Adhoc Opportunities in the Events Calendar. Please remember to sign up for the briefing/ training session through the Events Calendar as well. Thank you!

If you love children and stories, and if you wish to contribute back to the society by helping the less privileged, then don't miss this opportunity to join kidsREAD!! Some of our kidsREAD clubs in Bt Panjang, Woodlands and Tampines area are in need of volunteers now. So don't hesitate to contact us to find out more! You can email us at kidsREAD@nlb.gov.sg, or call 6342 4205 for more info. We're looking out for anyone above 15, have a good command of English and can preferably commit a min. period of 6 months, 1 hr once a week. Hope to hear from you soon!

CCKPL: Storytelling Session 7.25 to 8pm (Prep time 5 mins earlier) organised by Choa Chu Kang Community Library

Session reserved for storyteller. Storytelling is conducted from 7.30-8pm. 3 hours creditted per session.

Collection Maintenance organised by Geylang East Community Library

We need volunteers to help us with our Collection Maintenance. You will be given a list of library items to be pulled out from the shelves. New volunteers are welcome. Training is not required. No experienced needed but matured volunteers who are aged 13 and above are preferred. Dress code will be polo t-shirt or round neck t-shirt and either dark long pants or jeans. Please refrain from using tops with any advertisement messaging. Please note we do not allow any slippers, shorts, miniskirts or skimpy clothing, as our volunteers are in an ambassadorial role. Please bring along a jacket if you are prone to the possible low temperatures in the library. Interested volunteers - please register as soon as possible. Roles: Administrative duties  ( 3 ),
CCKPL requires library assistants on weekends (No participation on 13.2.10 after 5pm) organised by Choa Chu Kang Community Library

Choa Chu Kang Public Library requires volunteers for rotational duties of 1. user guides 2. gate and 3. rovers. One should be able to multi-task and handle patrons politely. User guide duties are to provide assistance to patrons at E-kiosks, Book Borrowing Stations and Catalogues. Gate duty is to look out any alarm trigger when patrons pass the gate. One has to call back the patron and bring them to the counter. Rover's duties is to patrol the library and ensure users comply to library rules & regulation. While roving, one is required to replenish all book displays in foyer including New Arrivals, please ask for guidance from staff at the counter. In the event whereby one encounters difficulty, immediately approach the CSO for assistance. Dress code will be smart casual but strictly no slippers, sandals, shorts, mini skirts, bermudas or skimpy clothing. CIP student welcomed.

Volunteers to helpout with our redemption booth at Geylang East Public Library. organised by Geylang East Community Library

Geylang East Public Library need volunteers to assist in manning our redemption booth and/or helpout with simple administrative duties. No experience needed and all are welcome to apply. Students may also sign up as part of their community involvement programme. Dress code: Smart casual or School Uniform. No slippers. Thank you.
